THE E.L.E.V.A*.T.E FRAMEWORK

8 GUIDING PRINCIPLES FOR BIPOC LEADERS & ORGANIZATIONS

All rights reserved. Malesha Taylor Browning, Creator and Founder of museSalon Collaborative, 2023

In 2023, Malesha Taylor-Browning designed E.L.E.V.A*.T.E. (Energy, Legacy, Ecosystems, Village, Archives + Ancestors, Think Global, 4 Elements) an acronym for 8 Guiding Principles for BIPOC-led and serving organizations. These guiding principles provide a framework for conscious capacity building and/or an internal organizational assessment. This unique assessment tool illuminates professional development and strategic planning opportunities that empower unique, legacy organizations to be sustainable, regenerative and global.

This framework is apart of our vision to build sustainable, village-support for BIPOC-led and serving arts and cultural organizations.

CAPACITY BUILDING

Capacity building for BIPOC-led and serving organizations is dynamic and requires a conscious framework that accounts for heritage, cultural tradition and repairing or answering to the impact of colonization. Our work is centered in remembrance, repair, regeneration, healing, empowerment and sustainability.

This work also serves research firms, foundations, philanthropy and granting organizations whose work intersects racial equity and liberatory methods and practices.
