importance of arts and culture

Arts and culture play a multifaceted role in the American economy, contributing to employment, economic growth, tourism, tax revenue, community development, and innovation. In 2019, arts and cultural production contributed $919.7 billion to the U.S. economy. Despite these contributions, the racial wealth gap persists, with the median wealth of White households approximately eight times higher than that of Black households.
